Taking a business approach to the creative process.

We take a systematic approach to both design and technology projects. Based on a general creative process, we work through iterations of our ideas to refine and establish a clear plan for production. We think strategically about the desired end state for each project, then work backwards in defining the details of the process to fit.

For most projects, our approach would consist of the following steps. Depending on budget, time, and level of client participation, each of these steps can vary greatly in its complexity and duration.

  1. Discovery and research
Work with the client to fully understand all goals and requirements and conduct any necessary initial research about aspects of the project.
  2. Project planning
Review the proposal with the client to make any adjustments to scope and to establish a schedule with clearly defined milestones and deliverables.
  3. Design / concept
Develop and present initial ideas and options to the client highlighting pros and cons and any related production issues or factors.
  4. Production
Refine the preferred solution and create a working version or draft of the final deliverables as appropriate for the project through iterations.
  5. Testing and deployment
Test the final product (whether a design or a website) against original requirements and deliver or coordinate as needed with the client to launch.
  6. Support
Depending on the situation, provide related training, technical support, awareness materials, or other consulting services to ensure the success of the project

We’ve found that this more or less becomes the structural outline for many of our project plans and proposals. The specifics will vary from project to project, but the overall approach we take is consistent.

Everyone on our team is experienced and works directly with our clients. Depending on the scale of a project, we may also assign someone to act as project manager and be a single point of contact for our clients.
